Real Weddings: Diana + Jacob

I always get so excited to see an email from Meg Perotti in my inbox!  Meg’s work is just outstanding, and her couples are always so inventive and fun.  Diana and Jacob are no exception to this, as they had a gorgeous wedding at a private home (previously owned by Mr. Warner himself) in Hollywood, which they coordinated on their own and pulled off on a limited budget using lots of friends, family, and ingenuity!

Diana is absolutely radient in her Vera Wang gown, rented from One Night Affair (what a fabulous idea!).

Jacob is a cross genre cellist and plays jazz, rock and classical music, so music played a huge part in their event.    During the ceremony, a guitar-playing friend wrote a song for Diana’s walk down the aisle, and a string quartet (also friends of Jacob’s) played as well.

Diana’s father built the Chuppah for the ceremony, which was decorated beautifully by florist Bulmaro Reyes.  Bulmaro was a friend of a friend of the couple who creates floral designs as a hobby.  Diana worked with Bulmaro by showing him images of designs that inspired her, but in the end, she left creative control to Bulmaro and the result was breathtaking!

The bridesmaids and groomsmen were dressed in deep navy, with blue ties for the men and bouquets of purple flowers and white feathers for the ladies.  I love the touch of feathers, it’s so “Old Hollywood Glamour”.

Meg always captures the best portraits – you can really see the love that Diana and Jacob have for eachother as well as feel the theme of the wedding and the atmosphere of the Hollywood mansion.

Keeping with the music theme, Diana and Jacob incorporated their special dance song, “The Glory of Love” by Peter Cetera (which they choreographed a fun dance to for the finale and performed to raves), into several elements.  “For the Glory of Love” was written underneath the kippas, on the carving set and on the napkins.  Favors were CDs with a mixture of pop and classical songs and of course, the song written for their ceremony was included!

During the reception, Jacob’s cello teacher performed a beautiful piece, another friend played flute, and a violinist and drummer performed an avante garde rock jazz piece.

Meg’s photography speaks for itself and Diana and Jacob did a wonderful job pulling together all of the details.  I hope you are as in love with this wedding as I am!
