Finding Inspiration

Every once in a while, we all have those days where inspiration is just hard to come by, especially when you’re planning an event.  So I thought it would be fun today to share a few of the places I run to when I’m in need of a little shot in the arm of creativity.

Design & Style blogs

I absolutely love home scouring decor and interior design blogs.  They are a fantastic place to find color palettes, home decor ideas that you can incorporate into your event, or beautiful scenes for your inspiration boards.  The [intlink id=”1679″ type=”post”]emerald and mango board[/intlink] from a few months back?  Inspired by this gorgeous photo from Domino magazine via This is Glamorous.

Fashion blogs

Whether its real life like the Sartorialist or magazine-worthy shots from AvantGarde Fashion Photography, fashion blogs are the place to go to drool.

Crafty blogs

If you’re into the DIY, this is the spot for you.  Just yesterday I stumbled upon the blog Seriously? by a gal named Jennifer who created this fabulous box out of scraps she had around the house – it would be perfect for adapting into your OOT baskets or bridesmaids’ gifts!

I’ve gotten so many great ideas from craft blogs such as Craftzine and Making it Lovely (whose blog is WAY more than crafting!).

Scrapbooking & Paper Crafting blogs

I can just hear you know: “What?  Scrapbooking you say?”  YES!  Not only will it give you insight into the tools of the trade you might need (or covet) but you’ll get the skinny on all sorts of new and fun fonts, Photoshop brushes, digital papers, and everything else cool in the paper world to aid you in your MAD skills.  Ones I’m lovin’ this instant: Paper Forest, and one of Anne’s favorites: Iris Babao Uy.

And just for kicks, on a day when finding inspiration is a little tough, hopefully these free project downloads from the Wedding Style Guide will give you a pick-me-up.  :)
