Erika and Rick were married in Asheville, NC at Homewood. I very much have a soft spot in my heart for this venue as two of our best friends were married there in 2003. It’s such a beautiful venue, very antique and English-feeling. So when I saw Sara and Melanie from Whitebox blog about the event, I knew I wanted to feature it and was thrilled when they agreed.
Erika and Rick have such great personalities, as evidenced by their choice of footwear:

They chose to see eachother before the ceremony – something I highly recommend, as you can get fantastic photos like these!
Erika makes her entrance to the ceremony – Homewood has a very long staircase leading to the outdoor event space. Notice her lack of bouquet… so interesting and I think, dramatic.
The paper lanterns in the trees add a bit of modern flair to the ceremony.
What we’ve been waiting for – the RED details! The couple chose to serve pie instead of cake (if you’re not a cake lover, I’m a big fan of nixing the wedding cake in favor of more interesting and affordable alternatives!).
You can tell that the guests all had a great time!
