Planning this party was SO much fun! I threw as many Braves and baseball details in there as I could. You’ve already seen the centerpieces and seating chart – but we also had Braves wine adorning the bar (Chipper Chardonnay and McCann Merlot, natch), vintage Braves caps as decor, a Smoltz jersey for our “guest book”, and dessert was, of course, ice cream sundaes in mini Braves helmets. Braves highlight reels were playing on the 755 Club screens throughout the evening.

At each guest’s chair was a small gift bag with Braves goodies. I purchased the gift bags, curling ribbon, and tissue from Nashville Wraps and then dressed it up with Braves logos on good old-fashioned Shrinky Dinks.

All credit for the Shrinky Dink inspiration goes to the fabulous Nicole of Making it Lovely. Her detailed Shrinky Dink tutorial is here. I used the clear Shrinky Dink paper, which didn’t exactly come out clear but wasn’t opaque either and it worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend purchasing a convection toaster oven – way easier than the embossing tool.

The gift bags contained a bag of Braves peanuts (my mother was able to purchase these off the shelf at her local Publix), a Braves trinket (things that we had around the house – ranged from keychains and bumper stickers to hats, nightlights, and foam Tomahawks), and a bag of Braves M&M’s. The Braves M&M’s were purchased from M&M’s.com and we supplemented them with red, white, and dark blue M&M’s from Sweet Be’s Candy, who will mix colors for no additional charge!

After getting some quick refreshments, we were off on a tour of the stadium! Here we are in the press box:

We also saw the Clubhouse:

And of course the field and dugout:

After the tour it was time to eat! Our menu was very traditionally baseball: hotdogs, pizza, french fries, nachos, hamburgers, Skip and Pete’s BBQ, and helmet sundaes!

I mentioned the table numbers earlier – they were part of a fun giveaway card I created:

With Laura Hooper’s permission, I used the background from my seating chart to create a little frame and then in Photoshop, I laid out and printed the card which had five contests:

Best dressed (all of the guests got to vote)
A pop quiz
Raffle
Name the Braves players
“If your card has been autographed by”

There was stiff competition, but my dad won best dressed for his awesome vintage 1995 World Series sweatshirt.

We had some very knowledgable Braves fans! I believe four people knew every Braves player on the tables – John Smoltz, Javy Lopez, Fred McGriff, Mark Lemke, Eddie Matthews, Rafael Furcal, Chipper Jones, Dale Murphy, and Hank Aaron. Raise your hand if you would have gotten them all!

And all of our guests had fun signing the John Smoltz jersey that was our guest book.

It was such a fabulous party. I can’t even begin to thank all of my friends for coming and Fernando at the 755 Club for being an awesome host! I would highly recommend doing a casual and fun welcome party for your rehearsal dinner. It gave our guests a chance to get to know each other and see our favorite place in the world too!
