Hello lovelies. Hope you’re all having wonderfully calm, inspired days.
I’m so excited to kick off the first of my official wedding recaps here on EAD. Just last week we got our pictures back from our amazing wedding photographers, Dave and Jo of Allegro Photography, and as I said on my own blog, they. are. phenomenal. And the slideshow movie they made is making our guests tear up left and right. I love it!
Our wedding day. How to describe it? Three words that come to mind: serene, opulent, and joyful. And special. So, so special.
Since Allegro did such a beautiful job of documenting our day, I’m going to let their pictures do most of the recapping of our “getting ready” moments. First up, my handsome groom, getting ready in our hotel room.
My pretty dress, quietly waiting for me.
Figuring out the jewelry with my cousin, mother-in-law and mom.
Wedding shoes on the window sill. Gray leather, pointy heels by “Everybody by BZ Moda”. Danced in these babies all night.
This embroidered handkerchief was my grandmother’s, Pearl. She passed away last year but was such a big part of my life and certainly with us on that day. This also served as my “something blue”.
Portrait on the chaise.
Finally, one of my favorite photos of one of my favorite details of the whole day: my bouquet! Dark purple dahlias, yellow craspedia, pheasant feathers, ivory roses, and lots of textural greenery. Would you believe I got it for a song from Whole Foods?! I was so pleased with how the flowers turned out. Thanks to Gay at the Whole Foods in Brighton, Mass.!
Much more to come from the ceremony and reception!
