Married…check!

Last thing on my to-do list: get married.  Check!  And I’m still riding on the coattails of what was undoubtedly  the best weekend of my life (cheesy, I know).  It started as soon as we landed in Chicago on June 9th just in time to see and celebrate the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team win the Stanley Cup–the energy and excitement from that win seeped into all our wedding weekend events and never died down once.    Our wedding was better than we had ever imagined, and as you all know, I’ve been imagining it for 18 months (or as my maid-of-honor said during her toast, 18 years.  :)

I woke up the morning of my wedding nerve-stricken; I thought no one would dance; I thought the rain (yes, rain) would not only dampen my dress and hair  but everyone’s moods; I thought my DIY centerpieces wouldn’t be enough; I thought the live music we hired wouldn’t show up; I thought my dress wouldn’t fit; I thought we should have had the flowergirls in white dresses instead of folk costumes… these are all things I thought of , for the first time, that morning.  Thankfully, I threw those thoughts out the window as soon as my first bridesmaid arrived to get ready and trusted my judgment over the last 18 months.  I’m glad I did because it our wedding turned out amazing.  All of our hard work, personalized details, and planning really paved the way for a once-in-a-lifetime party that ended at 4am with loads of people still wanting to dance.

Success!
