Hi everyone! After lots of tallying up, Cyd and I are proud to announce the Inspired Creations Contest top 10 concepts. These are in no particular order and we would love to hear which one inspired you the most (click on any image to take you to the full post). In addition to getting your opinions, we’re asking some special guest judges to help us determine our winners.
First of all, thanks to all of the awesome wedding vendors who entered the Inspired Creations Contest. Cyd and I are so excited to announce the winners. Special thanks goes to our amazing guest judges, Kathryn of Snippet & Ink, Maria of Ritzy Bee, and Jen of Green Wedding Shoes and to all of you who left comments! And now, without further ado, our winners!
Howdy, friends! Cyd from The Sweetest Occasion here today bringing you a dose of one of my favorite design trends of the moment – chevron! Chevron is such a versatile pattern. It can be preppy or it can be really modern and fun depending on the color and how you incorporate it throughout your day. Here are some of my favorite ways of showcasing a little chevron love, keeping in mind that where bold pattern is concerned, a little goes a long way!
Name two of the most romantic, beautiful things in the world. Did you say ballerinas and brides? Never does a girl want to feel more like a princess than on their wedding day, and adding ballet-inspired details to your wedding certainly brings that fairy tale dream to life. Think lace, chiffon, blush ribbon, and tulle, and instead of cake, a classic croquembouche!
I love fall weddings, especially when there are unique and fun autumn elements that are outside of the traditional norm. This fabulous inspiration shoot from Lisa Martin Bloomsberry Floral and Sara Gray Photography brings a modern spin to the fall wedding, showcasing a color palette of vivid orange and yellow paired with kraft paper brown, and fun and unique details including a beer and nut bar, apple place cards, and a recycled beer bottle centerpiece! The beautiful models show off two bridal looks – one classic and one soft and playful, and what better accessory for bridesmaids than bright yellow Hunter boots?
Today is such a fun day for me because I get to show off my very first designed shoot! I was so thrilled when Sara Gray asked me to create a shoot for her latest MarryThis! wedding guide, and immediately enlisted the amazing Kelly Marie Uss of Fleur to join in to help me style a romantic summer wedding shoot, full of vibrant colors and elegant and fluffy blooms. I love trends, but wanted to take a few of the design trends that are popular today, such as vintage china and lace, and use them in a way that was classic and timeless, a wedding that would stay fresh and inspiring for years to come. We chose the absolutely fabulous Aeree Loft at Room 1520 as our venue, its clean white walls and amazing light were the perfect backdrop!
Happy Friday everyone! I have another lovely Inspired Creations Contest shoot to show off today – modern and glamorous bridal fashion inspiration from the Portland team of Sara Gray Photography, Madeline Roosevelt, Amy Wing, and Serephine. The model is Sara’s beautiful younger sister Emily who is getting married this summer! The team wanted to incorporate sparkle without going wild, so they kept to a neutral color palette of gold, ivory, white, and silver. A sassy sequin dress from Nordstrom, glitter heels, dramatic makeup and fabulous accessories make this a perfect look for the modern bride.
Welcome to round 2 of the Inspired Creations Contest! I am so so excited to kick the entries off with positively gorgeous pink, gold, and champagne loft wedding inspiration from the team of Kellie Kano and Elissa Keno! You may remember these ladies from their amazing Retro Rockabilly Milkshake Bar in the first Inspired Creations Contest, and I think they have outdone themselves with this dreamy and romantic concept inspired by the rose and cream-colored brick walls of their loft space and based on a tradition called the May Tree.
I’m always excited to see an email in my inbox from Sara Gray! I know she’s going to show me something fabulous, and again, I wasn’t disappointed. This styled wedding shoot showcases some amazing Portland wedding vendors and their design-your-own products, which are perfect for those of you who want to add your own personal style to the wedding without doing a lot of DIY.
You might remember the enormously talented Sara Gray from her awesome Inspired Creations Contest winning concept, Dandelion Wine. I’m excited to welcome her back to EAD today with another beautiful styled shoot, one that’s romantic and preppy all at the same time.
I adore this southern vintage bridal inspiration shoot from a group of Dallas wedding vendors led by Catie Ronquillo Photography and Lauren Kelly Events! There is a beautiful array of found objects in each scene, and the delicate Southern bridal looks and vintage accessories are a perfect juxtaposition.
I’m not sure what’s cuter – this retro milkshake bar Inspired Creations Contest concept or the “models” for the shoot, Rachel and John. Kellie Kano and Elissa Keno did an incredible job constructing the milkshake bar and creating a retro look and feel sure to be perfect for any summer wedding reception!
I am really looking forward to our day after portraits! When we first met with our photographer and were talking about different packages, she brought up and suggested we do day after portraits. I had never really heard of these before, but they are a great way to get some beautiful portraits of the two of you without having to worry about getting your dress dirty, keeping your guests waiting, or anything else you may be thinking of the day of your wedding. You can just relax and have some fun!
