Real Weddings: Melanie + Jason

With the lush gardens of the Davenport House as the ceremony backdrop, and the Olde Pink House restaurant, Savannah’s only surviving 18th century mansion and a true Savannah institution, as the reception venue, you know Melanie and Jason’s wedding is bound to ooze classic Southern charm!  The incredibly talented Morgan Gallo Events styled and designed the celebration, and Nate and Laura from Open Light Studio captured all of these lovely images.

Guests entered the gardens of the Davenport House through wrought iron gates adorned with swags of ivy garland and roses, and found their seat under an intimate ceremony tent.

The garden’s jasmine arch wasn’t in bloom, so Morgan instead created an altar of hanging hydrangea pomanders.  As the ceremony concluded, guests released butterflies as Melanie and Jason walked down the aisle as husband and wife.

Trolleys transported everyone to The Olde Pink House, where tables featured galvanized buckets of peaches, hydrangea pomander centerpieces, and candles galore!

Each place setting was completed with a Georgia peach, whose stem was wrapped in calligraphy to double as a place card.

And after their sparkler exit, a vintage pedicab (a Savannah tradition) ushered Melanie and Jason to their hotel!  The perfect ending to a perfectly Savannah wedding.
