Sunny and JC are self-professed “total homebodies” who love snacking, napping, and hanging out on the couch. So what better place to capture their engagement photos than their Los Angeles home? Sunny, a singer, and JC, a pre-med student, were introduced by a mutual friend and have made a family with their adorable pug, Pluie. After a stroll around a nearby nature preserve, they returned to their house for cuddles and popsicles. We couldn’t imagine a better day, and love these images from Christine Choi Photography to pieces!

Chic Beach Engagement Session
Tammy and Stan’s breezy and impossibly romantic San Diego engagement session is the perfect farewell to summer! As the CEO and founder of FitChick, Tammy travels around the globe for work, and a business trip to the south of France presented Stan the perfect opportunity to surprise Tammy by popping the question. Upon their return home, the couple decided to recreate that magical afternoon with a pretty St. Tropez-inspired engagement session! HauteFetes designed a perfect sunset picnic against the backdrop of the picturesque California coastline, complete with a white kite, market tote, and the cutest naked cake from The Crimson Cake. A mod bikini from Bare Necessities (complete with floppy hat, naturally!) and gorgeous blooms from Blooms by Breesa Lee add to the romantic, French mood. Each image from Booth Photographics is simply irresistible!
Chic West Village Engagement Session
Sammi and Dan achieved the ultimate in engagement photos during their time around New York’s West Village and Hudson River Park with Lindsay Madden: effortless, romantic images that are chic and classic! With styling expertise from Roey Mizrahi Events, Sammi and Dan walked the city’s side streets and casually picnicked in the park to get these sweet reminders of their engagement. We could not adore Sammi’s red-hot Kate Spade New York dress and that vintage bicycle any more! We hope you enjoy all of the fabulous photos from this day!
Martha’s Vineyard Engagement Session
Aren’t Laura and Chris simply glowing in these fun nautical engagement photos by Stefanie Kapra Photography? We love the preppy blues and pinks in these images of the couple as they stroll along the beach, waterfront, and neighborhoods of Martha’s Vineyard. From a lighthouse to a dock to a picnic in the sand, a gorgeous couple plus a breathtaking setting equals timeless romance in every single one of these amazing shots!
Rome Engagement Photos
There may be no more appropriate setting for engagement photos than Rome, “the Eternal City”. Zora and Fely wanted to capture the beauty of one of their city at a place that has always fascinated Zora, the Pantheon. Together with Teresa of In Love In Italy Photography, they spent an afternoon strolling from Ara Pacis Augustae across the river Tevere to sit for a cappuccino at Splendor Parthenopes. They then headed to the Pantheon, crossing Ponte Sant’Angelo and watching the sun set behind the castle. Although they arrived at the Pantheon at the most crowded hour of the day, Teresa captured a stunning image of them standing still with people milling all around—Zora says: “It is my absolute favorite, it captures us and our love profoundly.” We love the enchanting city of Rome and these stunning photos from In Love In Italy Photography!
Elegant LA Ballroom Wedding
Francesca and Eric met on a blind date, were engaged six months later after a proposal on top of the Ferris Wheel at the Santa Monica Pier, and the rest is history! Their beautiful wedding at the The Ebell of Los Angeles is classic elegance personified. The venue has been featured on Mad Men and it’s easy to see why! It has a wonderful vintage feel that was absolutely brought to life with stunning, lush florals from City of Commerce Flowers. After a gorgeous ceremony in the garden and cocktails on the patio, guests moved inside for an elegant ballroom reception featuring a classic filigree cake from Sweet and Saucy Shop. Uyen Nguyen of Sassy Girl Weddings & Events brought Francesca’s vision of a romantic vintage-inspired wedding to life, and we are in love with all of the gorgeous images from Next Exit Photography!
Coney Island Engagement Photos
We love a casual, fun-loving engagement shoot, and Chris and Cassi’s Coney Island engagement photos by Jen Huang Photography are fabulous! The cute couple spent a day at the Brooklyn boardwalk playing games, trying out carnival rides, and just generally being in love. The result is adorable photos that show off Cassi and Chris’s personalities. We are completely smitten!
Sweet + Romantic Park Engagement
The heart of Ellen and Tom’s engagement session with Jordan Brittley—and their dog, Rocky—is a sweet and romantic picnic set in Forest Park in St. Louis. We love the pretty, low-key arrangement of tulips and hydrangeas, purchased at Trader Joe’s and hand-tied by Ellen’s mom. The gold leaf monogram topper by Crosswire Design adds an elegant touch to the Derby Day Pie Ellen made; the first taste of this dessert is what won Tom over in the beginning! We’re big fans of the vintage feel of these photos, aided in part by floral Ralph Lauren china—real plates on a picnic, swoon!—and linens from Cake Vintage Table & Home. Enjoy these lovely images!
Flower Shop Gardening Engagement Session
Connie and Ted’s adorable engagement session is so unexpected for Los Angeles—there’s no trace of the city, just lots of hearty succulents, a little potting soil, and so much love! These two genuinely enjoy playing and hanging out together, and it’s so clear in these fab photos from Caroline Tran. We’re sure that the couple who gardens together, stays together!
Elegant Los Angeles Wedding
We are smitten with the lovely details of Kristen and Kevin’s Los Angeles wedding at the Skirball Cultural Center! Lush pink and white flowers from G Fiori Floral Design are soft and pretty against Kristen’s Anne Barge gown from The White Dress. The ribbon and rhinestone belt of the gown was the inspiration for the gray bridesmaids dresses from J.Crew. Tall pink and green topiary arrangements and a dessert table filled with sweets surrounds a tall white confection from Cake Crumbs have us drooling. Wish Wonder Dream Wedding Coordination ensured that the day went smoothly, just like these images from Heidi Ryder Photography show!
Hip Downtown LA Engagement Session
How adorable are Nicole and Joey? The newly engaged couple wanted to incorporate their love of music into their photo session with Brandon Kidd Photography, so they headed to the largest record store in the world—Amoeba Music in Los Angeles—to snap some fun shots before heading out to the streets of downtown for a few more pictures. We love the laid-back California vibe of this hip engagement session!
Real Weddings: Diane + Jack
Diane and Jack’s Los Angeles soirée has every ingredient for an amazing wedding: luscious food, fabulous flowers, family, and friends! Diane and Jack planned their wedding in a mere two months (!), and the end result is glorious, colorful perfection. Brown Paper Design created lush centerpieces of cabbage roses, dahlias, and hydrangea in milk glass and a beautiful hanging ceremony backdrop amongst the trees at Maguire Gardens. Everyone was decked out in their finest, even Cooper, the best dog, in a striped bow tie and leash from Silly Buddy. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful images from Christine Farah Photography!
Fourth of July Engagement Shoot
Just in time for the 4th of July, we have an classic and adorable summer engagement shoot from Love Life Studios and styled by The Stylish Soiree. I love all the patriotic details from the tablescape to the bride’s oversized sunglasses to the mini red, white, and blue pinwheels. Check out the flowers too, don’t the blue thistle kinda look like fireworks? This laid-back shoot absolutely gets me in the mood for a big slice of peach pie and an ice cold soda. Happy 4th of July everyone!
This is the last week of the Inspired Creations Contest! I hope you have enjoyed the diverse and creative submissions, I know I have! This adorable concept comes to us from the ladies at In The Now Weddings + Events, Mathieu Photography, Lunch Pail Pictures, and Creative Media Print and I could not be more in love with it! The concept began with the poem “Brown Penny” by William Butler Yeats. In this poem the speaker contemplates whether or not he is old enough to love, and then decides “one cannot begin it too soon”. This inspired the idea of “young love” and “old love”, and the team created both an adult tablescape and a children’s table with the same red, white, navy, and copper color palette and fabulous “young and old” decor. This is truly a fresh take on Americana, with an understated dose of glitter and glam thrown in!
Real Weddings: Christina + William
Christina and William’s wedding is chock-full of DIY cuteness! A true handmade wedding in every sense of the word, Christina created all of the fun decor and letterpressed her wedding invitations, and friends handmade her gown and pulled together all of the floral arrangements. I love the punchy red and blue color palette, and Sarah K. Chen‘s images are absolute perfection!
Real Weddings: Max + Margaux
Only two days left in 2010 and we’re going to close out the year right! Today’s favorite wedding, from the fabulous duo of Whitney and Jesse of Our Labor of Love, is that of Max and Margaux. All you really need to hear to know that their two day backyard celebration is knock-your-socks-off amazing is that the awesome crew of The Flashdance came together to produce it!
Chic + Fun Los Angeles Wedding
Every now and then I see a wedding that really makes me stop and stare, and I truly fall in love with it. That is Kellie and Chris’s wedding. Photographed by the fabulous team of Courtney and Erin of Erin Hearts Court, with floral and coordination by Meg of La Partie Events, each and every little bit of this wedding is pure perfection. Kellie paired J Crew shoes with clips from etsy seller b Poetic. Bridesmaids wore elegant blue gowns with black detail by Enzoani. Flush Designs, created the invitations, with illustrations by the groom. The reception at the Redondo Beach Historic Library featured centerpieces of various pink and white flowers in milk glass vases. Even more amazing photos can be found on the Erin Hearts Court blog.
Bright and Warm Colored Wedding Inspiration in Sweden
One look at this 2 Brides Photography shoot and we bet you fall and summer brides would go gaga over all of the trendy inspo. The vendor team made up of big names like Lerin Wedding Occasions and The Wild Rose drew inspiration from bliss-inducing range of colors featured in Stockholm all throughout the onset of fall. Rust and blush and soft peachy tones make an appearance and don’t forget to check out the wedding cake by Liv Sandberg Cake Art. The flecks of gold flowers make this inspiration come full circle, and we love how all of the colors form together to create the palette of an impressive sunset. Though we can’t all celebrate majestic Swedish autumns, this shoot brings that beauty to everyone.
Classic Blush and Gold National Cathedral Wedding
After Jessica and Zach got engaged, they sweetly joined Jessica’s parents on a trip to DC to celebrate their wedding anniversary. One of their excursions there was to take a walk on the grounds where her parents held their wedding ceremony, the National Cathedral. Naturally, they were so smitten with the gardens and the buildings that once they found out the Gothic-style cathedral was now hosting wedding receptions in addition to ceremonies, the New Yorkers jumped on the chance to get married there. Jessica wanted an “elegant and ethereal” day so with the help of Caroline Dutton Events and Kate & Lilly Floral Design, they drew inspiration from the Bishop’s Garden on the grounds. With Audra Wrisley capturing all the pretty pale pink roses, peonies, greenery, and everything in between, the duo said their I do’s and partied the night away in one of the most amazing venues we’ve seen.
Summer Wedding at Whistling Straits
Megan wanted a destination wedding and Stephen, a local Chicago soiree, so they compromised by choosing Kohler, Wisconsin’s stunning Whistling Straits for their June nuptials. Any Midwesterner knows that the weather in June in Wisconsin can be a toss-up, and though the day started out gloomy and misting, right in time for the ceremony the skies cleared and the sun appeared! When thinking of their wedding style, Megan and Stephen knew that they wanted simple elegance, and their choices reflected that vision. Wooden tables and farmhouse chairs graced the stone reception room, with glimmering candles and swaths of greenery. The result was a chic and sophisticated wedding with timeless images from Jenna Marie Photography that we know they’ll forever treasure!

Celestial Wedding Inspiration from David’s Bridal
Celestial wedding inspiration is all the rage for 2018, and Aisle Society teamed up with David’s Bridal to create a new twist on a hot trend! From the ruffle trim faux wrap dress to the sparkly beaded straps and pleated bodice on this chiffon beauty, the details on the David’s Bridal bridesmaids dresses are oh-so-chic and feature a range of colors, silhouettes, and styles. The flowing chiffon fabrics of the bridesmaids dresses and beaded bodice of the bride’s Galina Signature gown paired beautifully with decor elements inspired by the moon and the stars. Shimmery acrylic menus, galactic stationery, calligraphy quotes in moon shapes, and David’s Crystal Goddess Headband and Starry Night Inspired Crystal Cathedral Veil stylishly bring in the theme. We’re over the moon (couldn’t resist!) for this heavenly inspiration designed by Roey Mizrahi Events and Love Inc. and captured by Jacqueline Patton Photography!
Lush Garden Wedding in Los Angeles
Erin and David selected the elegant Belmond El Encanto in Santa Barbara for their July nuptials. Erin was inspired by the idea of a Southern garden—lush, lively, and romantic—and worked with Precious & Blooming to craft a “perfectly imperfect” feel, mixing white, ivory, and light gold blooms, surrounded by swaths of greenery. After a showstopping ceremony set around the lily pond with a dramatic altar draped with fabric and dressed with greenery, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with “Babes and Bombers” cocktails (a nod to their softball team) and a Polaroid guest book, before moving inside the ballroom for the reception, where they danced the night away to the tunes of Gold Standard. Erin shares “The end of the night was one of my favorite memories. There was a grand piano in our venue and our best man, Matthew Walker, started playing. Everyone gathered around and sang along with him to “Rocket Man” while I sat on the piano, straight out of an old movie. At the top of the chorus, everyone would through petals in the air, making the most incredible smelling confetti.” We are smitten with every gorgeous image from Jillian Rose Photography!
Glamorous Beverly Hills Wedding
The Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills was the perfect venue for Julie and Jonathan’s dream wedding! With the help of their wedding planner, Catherine of CCL Weddings, the couple designed a private outdoor ceremony (featuring the couple’s adorable pup, Nala) and elegant indoor reception with lush and romantic florals by Heavenly Blooms. Luxury and personality came together perfectly, with champagne escort cards that doubled as favors and a cocktail hour snack of beef jerky, the groom’s favorite! We are obsessed with every fun detail in the beautiful images from Closer to Love Photography!
Classic Gold and Navy Wedding
The ocean breeze and lush greenery of Los Angeles’ Trump National Golf Club were the backdrop for Ivy and Aaron’s classic California wedding. Inspired by the beautiful surroundings, the couple incorporated a tree theme, symbolizing planting roots and growing as one. Working with CCL Weddings and Events, they echoed the theme by building a ceremony arch out of intertwining branches, adding greenery to the decor designed by The Vine’s Leaf, and hanging escort cards in a live tree installation in the venue’s foyer. Romantic centerpieces in shades of blush and ivory dressed up the elegant ballroom, where the neutral palette gives an utterly timeless feel. We’re captivated by the gorgeous images from Christine Farah Photography!
Romantic California Villa Wedding
We couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to close out an amazing year than with Emma and Anthony’s ethereal wedding from The Great Romance. The couple’s vision for their wedding day was to throw a smashing party in a timeless setting and they couldn’t have selected a better location than Sierra Madre’s stunning Villa del Sol d’Oro. The Old World-style surroundings beautifully showcased their carefully chosen classic details. Mandolin Flowers created lush, soft arrangements of peonies, Queen Anne’s lace, eucalyptus, roses, and stock to dress the tables for the outdoor reception, and we’re smitten with Emma’s bouquet, which gathered the florals of the day in an exotic, hand-tied creation. It was the perfect complement to a floaty Sarah Seven gown and dainty gold Anthropologie heels. We are captivated by every single image from The Great Romance!
Romantic + Elegant LA Hotel Wedding
Natives of Los Angeles, Michelle and Miguel wanted a spot for their wedding that didn’t feel like typical LA. The Legendary Park Plaza Hotel was the perfect venue for that, with its dramatic staircases, ceilings, and windows. The Dainty Lion helped Michelle and Miguel plan a celebration that was uniquely theirs, which included lush peony bouquets, baby’s breath topiaries, and pretty blooms in glass vases along tables peppered with gold sequin linens. Bridesmaids in taupe dresses were elegant, especially standing next to Michelle in a lace and tulle Pronovias gown from Bellasposa. We love Michelle’s blue Badgley Mischka shoes with sparkling brooches! Romantic touches such as floral stationery from Wedding Paper Divas and feather accents on place settings matches the drama of the location! A dessert table at the reception featured macaroons from Sweet and Saucy Shop, topped off with a cake designed by Hotcakes Bakes. We’re swooning over every detail in these photos from Love, Janet Photography!
Modern + Chic Los Angeles Wedding
Oh, we have loved these past two weeks! Scouting for our favorite weddings series is one of the most fun tasks of the year, and we have the perfect wedding to complete the series before we are back on Monday with gorgeous new inspiration to share. Jen Huang is one of our favorite ladies. She is an amazing, sincere, and beautiful person—inside and out—and a true master behind the lens, as you can see in Judy and Jack’s Los Angeles soiree! Held at downtown LA’s open, airy Carondelet House, these nuptials feature not only some of LA’s best vendors (romantic florals by The Little Branch, libations from Pharmacie, and the Kogi taco truck to name a few!), but we also have two adorable pups, an absolutely fabulous Mikaella gown, and a couple that is just so in love it’s ridiculous. Sophisticated, thoughtful, and chic, we couldn’t ask for a better way to officially close out 2013. Visit the gallery to see it all!
Pretty Pastel LA Wedding
Liz and Jason’s elegant wedding completely eschews a modernist LA vibe for pretty pastels and soft touches that shine in these images from Christine Farah Photography! We’re enamored with the airy layers of Liz’s bridal gown, paired with delicate pearl jewelry and a romantic updo. Soft pink bridesmaids dresses set the tone for flowers in the same color family by Milieu Florals. With CCL Weddings and Events onboard to lead the planning and design, Liz and Jason created the perfect day for them and their friends and family. Following the ceremony at Los Angeles Full Gospel Church, the lovely Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at The Music Center played host to the reception. There, the couple took part in a tea ceremony to pay homage to their heritage. Pink chevron and vintage touches created a fairytale space for dinner, dancing, and a luscious dessert from Cakery Bakery. This affair couldn’t be more gorgeous. See it all right here!
