There’s something magical about Downton Abbey: the fashion, the setting, the elegance… Nicole of Darling Today set out to create a timeless and elegant inspiration shoot that evoked the feeling of Downton Abbey, with a current spin. The intimate dinner party reception scene inside the Hall & Gardens at Landmark featured candlelight and lush florals by Essence Events. Elegant Bridal Session Inspired by Frida Kahlo
Art will forever be inspirational subjects, but even the artist is put on display and ultimately, veer towards becoming artistic components themselves. Cue the illustrious Frida Kahlo. The woman was a pioneer for her time and thanks to her ingenuity, we were graced with many surrealist self-portraits and homages to her native Mexico. In this delightful shoot by Heirloom Rose Photography, Montserrat Salgado wanted to channel Frida, but steer her style towards a light and airy aesthetic. Frida was a paragon for her own brand of femininity, and a bold bridal gown by Esteé Couture with lace details and off-the-shoulder sleeves proclaims that brand of womanhood. Vendors like Haute Poppies and Perch Event Decor fully embraced the inspo. Pink and gold details are forever timeless and the florals were showstoppers; large, organic bundles of blush and peach blooms and without a doubt, that big and beautiful floral crown was the main event. Frida, no doubt, would wear that beauty proudly.
Texas Mansion Wedding Inspiration
We just want more and more of this Texas wedding shoot by ML Photo & Film! We can’t get enough of those sky high magnolia trees and the ultra-southern Woodbine Mansion sitting pretty in the background. To our heart’s delight, Eclipse Event Co. wanted to keep the style fresh and sweet as tea, with the always-classic white and ivory paired with cornflower blue accents along with hints of gold in the cutlery and peach linens. The medium powdery blue certainly stood out on the sprawling manor’s grounds, tying everything together to result in an epic rendition of “southern charm”. This one is certainly for the Pinterest boards!
Romantic Estate Wedding Inspiration
Though the setting may be in Southern California, the Villa Del Sol D’Oro transports us to Tuscany with its romantic European estate feel. Sweetest Love Events designed an elegant outdoor soiree with a beautiful mix of vintage elements and muted tones. Sibyl Sophia Floral Design created a showstopping bouquet and pastel garden-style arrangements for the alfresco reception and sweetheart tables, whose buttery tones echoed the villa’s graceful exterior. The stylish couple embraced the glamour with a sophisticated pale dove gray Willowby by Watters gown from Mary Me Bridal and classic tuxedo from The Black Tux . We are completely smitten with this dreamy wedding shoot photographed by Devon Donnahoo Photography!
Romantic Wedding at the Ringling Museum
The Ringling Museum is Sarasota’s most spectacular setting, so when Kim and Christian conveyed their vision to NK Productions Wedding Planning, they chose to accentuate the courtyard with lush greenery, white blooms, and pops of burgundy blooms. Victoria Blooms mixed anemones, garden roses, and delphinium to create a romantic, organic feel underneath trees festooned with chandeliers. The scrumptious cake from The Cake Zone was half key lime and half mango—true Florida flavors!—and featured a blue ombre design to add a pop of whimsy and color to the warm and neutral reception. We wish we were basking in the Florida sun and are spellbound by the gorgeous images by Justin DeMutiis Photography!
Charming Ohio Wedding at Historic Estate
One gaze at this wedding and it would be hard to imagine that Leah and Andy wanted a laid-back fête to reflect their easygoing selves because their wedding is dripping with classic elements. To say the least, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is an old world vision that Renee Lemaire Photography certainly captured at the Porter’s big day. Every aspect of the grounds exudes romance and the whole place looks like it was plucked out of a fairytale. Leah recalls going to Stan Hywet often as a little girl, so she knew it was THE place and after showing Andy, they were both hooked and began dreaming up their wedding. Their September wedding day consisted of a delicate cream and ivory palette with dabs of blush, expert florals by The Budding Tree, and ending the night twirling away underneath the trees and the stars.
Classic Blush and Gold National Cathedral Wedding
After Jessica and Zach got engaged, they sweetly joined Jessica’s parents on a trip to DC to celebrate their wedding anniversary. One of their excursions there was to take a walk on the grounds where her parents held their wedding ceremony, the National Cathedral. Naturally, they were so smitten with the gardens and the buildings that once they found out the Gothic-style cathedral was now hosting wedding receptions in addition to ceremonies, the New Yorkers jumped on the chance to get married there. Jessica wanted an “elegant and ethereal” day so with the help of Caroline Dutton Events and Kate & Lilly Floral Design, they drew inspiration from the Bishop’s Garden on the grounds. With Audra Wrisley capturing all the pretty pale pink roses, peonies, greenery, and everything in between, the duo said their I do’s and partied the night away in one of the most amazing venues we’ve seen.
Romantic Philadelphia Wedding at Union Trust
Julie and Ross’s love story began like any budding romance in college: Julie walked into a summer party Ross was already enjoying, and she caught his eye immediately. After he scrounged up enough courage to chat with her, they found out they both were attending George Washington University in DC. Realizing you couldn’t get any more serendipitous than that, Ross asked Julie out on a date and the rest was history. With an epic wedding proposal at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Temple of Dendur exhibition, the duo followed it up with more amazing architecture and chose to wed at Philadelphia’s Cathedral of Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and hosted their reception at Union Trust. Julie donned a stunning Berta wedding gown with vine detailing and Ross was the spitting image of a classic Hollywood leading man in his J. Hilburn tux. Kristin Weaver Photography’s captures show us all of the glitz and glam of the day and it instantly transports us to this fun fête.
Elegant Amelia Island Wedding
Lindsay and Andrew chose the stunning Walker’s Landing in Amelia Island, Florida for their wedding, and the venue set the tone for their wedding style. Set on the water and with a bit of a rustic vibe, the venue was a perfect mix of whimsy and elegance. Lindsay’s bridesmaids donned beautiful mismatched champagne dresses, while the men kept it classic in tuxes, with Andrew sporting a white dinner jacket. Tiffany of Liz Stewart Floral Design crafted incredible florals to accent the flowing dresses and woodsy reception space. Edison bulbs and draped greenery were a “must have”, says the couple, along with dramatic swaths of drapery from the ceiling, and the organic, loose bouquets and centerpieces added to the romantic feel of the day. This truly unique and stunning wedding, captured by Brooke Images, is one we know you’ll fall in love with!
Classic Colorado Wedding at Cherokee Ranch
Erin and Cory’s wedding vision called for a natural, organic wedding in a timeless setting, and the couple fell in love with Cherokee Ranch & Castle the moment they set eyes upon its gorgeous stonework and lush pastures. Isabelle Kline Design created a romantic ambiance with a reception tent awash with greenery, and an outdoor ceremony overlooking the picturesque Colorado surroundings. Erin paired her Justin Alexander gown with a family heirloom sapphire ring as her “something blue”, and Cory donned a custom tuxedo from Trumaker. Every beautiful moment and the truly stunning setting were captured beautifully by Danielle DeFiore!
Intimate + Romantic Winston-Salem Wedding
Melissa and Travis always knew they wanted a small wedding. Their intimate dinner at Winston-Salem’s Spring House Restaurant ticked every box: a timeless and elegant setting, unforgettable food and drink, and treasured personal details. Melissa stayed true to her initial vision of a neutral palette with sophisticated hints of metallics. Amy Lynne Originals designed lush, clustered centerpieces of calla lilies, roses, peonies, lisianthus, hydrangea, and ranunculus, paired with a sea of candles in glass cylinders. The linens—handmade in India and passed down through Melissa’s aunt—were sheer with gold threading and beading, adding just the right hint of sparkle. From the custom cocktails honoring the couple’s two pups to the beautiful images captured on film by Red Boat Photography, this entire wedding is not to be missed!
Classic Ivory + Gold Wedding at Lowndes Grove
Jules and Nick both hail from the South, and both have ties to Charleston, so a destination wedding in the Lowcountry was an easy choice! They selected Lowndes Grove Plantation, as Jules had always dreamed of getting married outside under the trees. The location, lined with oak trees right on the Ashley River, could not have been more perfect. Their vision of a romantic, Gatsby-inspired soiree was brought to life working with Mac and B. Events. They selected a color palette of champagne, ivory, and gold. Tables were adorned with ample florals by Branch Design Studio, in soft metallic vases, adding a bit of shimmer to the clean white tents. Glimmering chandeliers wrapped in greenery completed the scene and the result is exquisite! This sunset stunner from Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay is one for the ages!
Elegant Barcelona Destination Wedding
Tina grew up in Hong Kong and Australia, with half of her family in Scotland, and Zac is from Australia. Their close family and friends live all over the world, so what better way to celebrate their union than with a destination wedding in Barcelona, where they were living when Zac proposed? Their vision of an intimate, personal wedding came to life when they found Casa Felix, a Spanish villa in Barcelona’s wine region, with a relaxed, peaceful ambiance. The couple worked with A Spanish Do to create a poolside reception highlighting the stunning locale. They selected a pastel color palette with pops of berry tones and an abundance of greenery, and Paradiso Barcelona designed rich, organic florals to complement the natural beauty of the villa. The result is positively breathtaking! Prepare to transport yourself to Spain with these lovely images from En Route Photography!
Elegant Dusty Pink Mansion Wedding Inspiration
The gorgeous Armour House mansion, set just outside of Chicago, inspired this elegant and romantic inspiration shoot conceptualized and photographed by Alexandra Lee Photography and planned by Jordan of Events by JVB. Loose, organic florals by Fleur Couture accentuated the blush, mauve, and greenery color palette, and a showstopping hand-painted cake from The Quintessential Cake and Paper Love Club completed the scene. The result: spectacular!
Southern Romance Wedding Inspiration
Inspired by the colors of Charleston, this stunning editorial for The Film Gathering features a color palette of shades of pink and purple, sprinkled with pops of marigold – soft and whimsical, but refined. With the majestic oaks of Middleton Place as the backdrop, the design team of Magnolia & Grace Events and Lindsay Bishop Events created an enchanting sweetheart table with luxe velvet linens, vintage gold flatware, auburgine taper candles, and a large cascading compote centerpiece. The result is absolutely breathtaking! We adore how this shoot mixes modern touches (those shoes!) with classic elements (that vintage car!) for a completely unique and timeless look! Classic Country Club Wedding in Minnesota
KJ and Kenny are two Midwesterners currently living in California, and when they became engaged, they knew that they wanted to marry in the groom’s hometown of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. The classic Detroit Lakes Country Club was the perfect (albeit only!) choice for their outdoor ceremony and tented reception, which fused their North Dakota and Minnesota roots with elegant details, such as a fabulous floral arch by Natalie of Native Poppy that served as the backdrop for their vows. Using local greenery foraged from the Detroit Lakes area and over 2,500 blooms, Natalie created gorgeous arrangements and a cascading bridal bouquet that is simply heavenly! Fun details honoring their home states, such as die-cut state invitations and escort cards and a Fargo-friendly hashtag—#youBlattcha (youbetcha, get it?)—make this Midwest destination wedding a favorite! We are head over heels for the beautiful images from Abby Anderson!
French Blue + Sage Green Texas Wedding
Erin grew up spending summers nearby Horseshoe Bay Resort, so when selecting their wedding venue, she and Alex knew it would be the perfect choice! Situated an hour outside of Austin, the picturesque lakeside location is naturally gorgeous, and the couple selected their color palette of French blue and sage green based upon the surroundings. Working with Eclipse Event Co., Erin and Alex formed a cohesive vision: clean, classic, and welcoming. Erin shares “I wanted elegant yet un-fussy florals, which Gypsy Floral and Events translated into works of floral art.” With painterly arrangements set inside ginger jars and a showstopping hanging arrangement adorning the ceremony pavilion, we have to agree that these florals are heavenly! Read on to see the gorgeous images captured on film by Brittany Jean Photography and hear more from Erin—this Texas wedding is a favorite!
Las Vegas Wedding at Red Rock Country Club
Molly and Paul’s romantic desert wedding makes the most of the stunning mountain backdrop of Red Rock Country Club. The December Las Vegas weather was warm enough for an outdoor ceremony, which featured a positively gorgeous wedding arbor designed by CITY blossoms. Molly embraced having a winter wedding and selected a palette of silver and gray with lush ivory blooms for a simple yet elegant look. Molly accented her Justin Alexander lace gown with a fingertip veil and chic loose waves styled by Amelia C. & Co.. Her gown also held a special surprise for Paul! Molly shares “My husband plays baseball for the NY Mets, and we both agreed to keep baseball out of our wedding decor. But since baseball is such a huge part of our lives, I surprised him with the Mets emblem patch inside my dress as my “something blue”. He saw it for the first time during the garter toss and the look on his face was priceless.” From the joyous ceremony to the reception glimmering with candlelight, there’s so much to love in all of the beautiful images by KMH Photography!
Elegant Chicago Country Club Wedding

The club, with its immaculate landscaping and tent with twinkling lights was the perfect choice for the couple’s late summer event. Filled with the most beautiful blooms and greenery, the overall feel is romantic and sophisticated with just a touch of whimsy and the reception tent feels like a hidden secret garden! Lauren is a vision in a flowing Mikaella gown, beautifully accented with a colorful, lush bouquet designed by Four Finches. There’s not a single detail we aren’t completely smitten by, and it’s all captured beautifully by Bonphotage!
Urban + Industrial Winery Wedding Inspiration
Set at Spokane’s Barrister Winery, this romantic inspiration shoot from Dana Muchow Design features neutral tones and greenery with pops of deep burgundy, a perfect color palette for an industrial chic soiree! The venue’s rich textures of exposed brick and wood grain combined with clean white dresses, lush greenery florals by Briar and Bloom and a sea of taper candles equal pure urban sophistication. Enjoy the gorgeous images captured on film by Amber Glanville Photography!
Garden Wedding at Virginia Plantation
Allie and Bryce love their Virginia heritage, and their wedding vision was centered first and foremost around Allie’s dream of being married at Tuckahoe Plantation. Their classic Southern soiree feels traditional and timeless but not at all stuffy! A fresh color palette of shades of purple and green echo the lush surrounding gardens, while touches such as black and white striped grosgrain ribbons add a modern twist. Whitehouse Flowers incorporated peonies into the arrangements as the couple’s own garden is filled with peonies replanted from each of their grandparents’ gardens. In keeping with the Southern theme, they opted for a classic buttercream cake with a cascade of lilac hydrangea. Special touches abound, from oyster shell escort cards to a fabulous custom monogram crest – each moment captured by Sarah Jane Winter Photography is so special and joyous and we’re in love!
